This places the battle theater in the Massif Central zone, approximately 400 km northeast of the Pyrenean front (mapbook cell eur-12) and approximately 300 km southwest of the Loire-Rhine axis. The military objective — eliminating the Visigothic kingdom's Gallic presence — is amply explained by the political context: the Visigoths controlled the Garonne basin and posed a direct threat to the Frankish flank in any southward expansion. The GDCC accepts this reading as primary and does not require a pod-biological mechanism to explain the campaign's occurrence.

The archive's observation is geometric: Vouillé is the battle at which the Merovingian military footprint reached its closest approach to the Pyrenean corridor during Clovis's reign. Dagobert I, king of all the Franks from 629 to 639 CE, is the peak of the Merovingian custodial organization in the GDCC's assessment. Three institutional actions of Dagobert's reign are specifically significant.

First, Dagobert unified the partitioned Frankish kingdom under a single royal authority for the first time since Clovis — reassembling the four corridor territories into a single managed domain. The precise mechanism — whether Dagobert deliberately established a lateralized custodial branch or whether the branch emerged through a less formal royal connection — is not documentable at this distance.
