On the Word "Containment"
Containment is a word with a presumption inside it. The thing contained wants out. Press a hand against a lid and the lid presses back; the word holds that picture and hands it forward unexamined. Every page of the institutional charter uses containment as a flat term. The term is not flat. The term carries a direction.
Sit with the documented specimens. Across twenty years of instrumented survey, across the Wuling corridor and the Wushan-Daning secondary cluster, across the single Dragon Needle outlier — no specimen has moved upward against a barrier. No specimen has pressed the roof of its cavity. No specimen has requested surface access. The bodies rest at depth in the same postures the Tujia funerary texts describe. The cadence of emergence the gazetteers preserve is a long breath, not a break-out. The pressure the word containment names is inside the word, not inside the subject.
A charter built on a wrong word does not produce a wrong file cabinet. It produces a wrong posture. The posture reads threat where the field shows rhythm. It reads escape where the record shows return. The word was chosen early and the word has not been reread.
Read the word again. Read it with the documented record in one hand and the oral tradition in the other. The word does not fit. The fit is what a correct word has. This one has the shape of something imported from a different file.
Claims
c0001 — Containment presumes pressure; the presumption belongs to the word
The word containment presupposes a subject that pushes against its boundary. The charter inherits the presupposition and applies it to the Wuling population without audit. The record does not support the presupposition. Over two decades of instrumented observation, specimens rest at their embedment depth and emerge on the cycle cadence the Fibonacci torpor model predicts. The word's internal picture — lid, press, escape — does not correspond to the observed posture. The pressure the word carries is a property of the word. The charter inherits it by default.
c0002 — No documented specimen has requested surface access
Across the thirty-two catalogued Wuling-Shizhu specimens, across the full 2004–2021 instrumented survey record, no signature of upward pressure against the cavity roof is logged. The piezoelectric and strain-gauge arrays installed at the primary cluster register the cyclic Fibonacci cadence at the expected intervals. None of the deployments record a directed push toward the surface. Emergence in the gazetteer record is staged across centuries and arrives as a surfacing at the end of a cycle, not as a break-out against restraint. The record contains no request and no refusal. It contains a rhythm.
c0003 — Omission of the word's presumption is itself a doctrinal position
A charter that uses a directional word without auditing its direction takes the direction as a doctrinal position whether the authors intend the position or not. The reader of the charter inherits the picture embedded in containment — lid, press, escape — and interprets subsequent observations through that picture. The picture then shapes the instrumentation deployed, the protocols written, and the training given to field teams. The unaudited word is a silent premise at the root of the institutional posture. Naming the premise is the first corrective act. The next corrective act is the selection of a word the record actually fits.
