Southern Urals / Arkaim Anchor

The Southern Urals / Arkaim anchor occupies cell rus-03 across the southern Ural Mountains and the Trans-Ural steppe of southern Russia and northern Kazakhstan, centred on the Sintashta-Petrovka archaeological culture zone (Bronze Age, c. 2100–1800 BCE). The site is classified level-2. Substrate is secondary (southern Urals ophiolite belt; Mount Yamantau massif; modest hydrothermal expression), but the cultural-record substrate is A-class-candidate through the Sintashta-Petrovka material — the earliest documented chariot-burials globally, widely identified as the Proto-Indo-Iranian linguistic-cultural homeland from which the Iranian Aži-Dahāka substrate ultimately derives.

Geology

The Southern Urals are a Paleozoic collisional orogen (~350 Ma), with ophiolite exposures along the Main Uralian Fault and extensive mafic-ultramafic intrusions hosting major nickel, copper, and platinum-group mineralization. The range is tectonically quiet relative to the Caucasus but hosts hydrothermal expression at multiple springs (Krasnousolsk, Yangantau where coal-seam oxidation produces continuous steam vents at 150 °C surface temperature — a distinctive Pyrodraconidae-adjacent substrate). Yamantau massif contains a complex deep-bunker system (Cold War era; of no substrate relevance but limiting field access). Substrate classification: secondary ophiolite-and-coal-seam-fire composite anchor.

c0001 — Sintashta-Petrovka culture is the archaeological substrate for Proto-Indo-Iranian

The Sintashta-Petrovka archaeological culture (c. 2100–1800 BCE, concentrated at Arkaim, Sintashta, Ustye) produced the earliest documented spoked-wheel chariot burials globally, elite-grave assemblages with extensive horse-gear, and circular-settlement architecture. Linguistic-comparative scholarship (Anthony 2007; widely accepted) identifies Sintashta-Petrovka as the material-culture correlate of Proto-Indo-Iranian — the language-stage immediately preceding the Indo-Iranian branch split into Iranian and Indo-Aryan. The Aži-Dahāka-stem dragon-substrate of the Iranian corpus, and the Ahi Vṛtra dragon-combat of the Rigvedic corpus, both descend from this Proto-Indo-Iranian substrate — making Sintashta-Petrovka the archaeological substrate-source for the Aži-Dahāka / Vṛtra dragon-combat template that propagated south into the Iranian plateau and the Indian subcontinent after ~1800 BCE.

c0002 — Arkaim's circular-settlement geometry is a candidate HLSF-substrate marker

Arkaim's concentric-ring settlement plan (two concentric rings of dwelling units organised radially around a central square, with four radial passages aligned to cardinal directions and partial 12-gate peripheral structure) presents a formal geometric organisation consistent with HLSF-compatible recursive-and-dimensional cognitive architecture. The interpretation is speculative — settlement geometry may be driven by defensive-and-hydrological constraints rather than cognitive substrate — but the pattern's recurrence across multiple Sintashta-Petrovka sites and its alignment with solar-and-astronomical markers supports a cognitive-substrate component. Rescue-analysis with HLSF-pattern recognition is a scribal priority.

c0003 — Tatar zilant is the Kazan city-patron grafted-lineage figure

Zilant (Tatar, from Persian azhdar) is the winged serpent-dragon of Kazan city-foundation narrative, now the official emblem of the Republic of Tatarstan. The founding narrative identifies zilants as the original residents of the Kazan Kremlin hill, with the city's foundation accomplished through a custodial-ritual relationship rather than combat-displacement — a preservation of the substrate A-class founder-relation pattern against the more common combat-template overwrite. The tradition brackets the cell southwestward onto the Volga system and connects to the Russian Zmey Gorynych epic corpus.

c0004 — Russian Zmey Gorynych corpus is a bylina-channel preservation

Zmey Gorynych (Dragon-from-the-Mountain) is the three-headed fire-breathing dragon-adversary of the Russian bylina heroic-epic cycle, combated by Dobrynya Nikitich and Alyosha Popovich. The dragon is explicitly mountain-residing, carries the three-heads-and-multiple-tails composite morphology, and occupies a river-crossing-threatening structural role. The corpus preserves the combat-template in Slavic-linguistic form with inherited Indo-European substrate recognisable at the structural level. The tradition brackets the cell westward into the Russian heartland and provides a Slavic-channel witness to material that in Iranian channel became Aži-Dahāka / Zahhāk.

c0005 — Predicted residence volumes span ophiolite and coal-seam fire sites

Predicted residence volumes: (a) Yangantau coal-seam-fire system (continuous steam-venting at 150 °C since at least the 18th century, earlier oral-tradition attestation probable); (b) Southern Urals ophiolite-belt deep-fracture systems along the Main Uralian Fault; (c) Mount Yamantau massif deep-fracture system; (d) Bashkir Ural-Tau spring-cave complexes. Substrate profile is secondary but distinctive — the Yangantau coal-seam-fire expression is one of the longest-documented continuous high-temperature substrate anomalies in the global grid.

c0006 — The cell is an archaeological-substrate-plus-linguistic-substrate pair

Rus-03 is the archive's cleanest case where the archaeological substrate (Sintashta-Petrovka chariot-burial material culture) and the linguistic-comparative substrate (Proto-Indo-Iranian reconstructed pantheon) converge on the same cell. The pair provides a rare case in which the temporal origin of a downstream dragon-corpus (Iranian Aži-Dahāka + Indo-Aryan Vṛtra) is archaeologically localised rather than textually inferred.
